- Abstract
- This thesis looks at the effects of a shared outreach experience in building a stronger relationship between a church and its parish day school. Participants took a mission trip to visit a rural church school in Haiti and were then interviewed about their experience. Family systems theory and the theology of service and relationships informed the project and the interpretation of the outcomes. New, lasting interpersonal bonds among the travelers were evident, as were strengthened ties to the sister institutions. The long-term result of a healthy, strong relationship between church and school will continue to be evaluated.
