Abstract
  • The project sought to discover to what degree pastors in the Reformed Church in America in southwest Michigan implement various characteristics of visionary leadership in their churches. The intent of this dissertation was to better understand visionary leadership, while creating a better comprehension of ways to enhance a pastor's ability to implement this important characteristic of ministry. The most prominent finding indicates that pastors see visionary leadership as an essential element of their church leadership, generating within their churches passion, energy, focus, and unity, while creating greater proficiency in reaching the unchurched.
