Abstract
  • Fiscal giving among Christians continues to decline. Theological misconception rather than economy is primary factor. Lion's Share is a stewardship program by Don and Kathie Deremer designed to assist local congregations develop a theology for financing global evangelism. Five independent Christian churches were selected. Ten-year histories revealed giving patterns. Congregational questionnaires measured initial theological understanding. Lion's Share was prayerfully implemented. Giving was measured one year. Re-taking of questionnaires indicated significant theological growth, including a seveteen percent average increase in giving. Christ's command for global evangelism includes adequate resources which must be tapped for the church to accomplish her global mandate.
