- Abstract
- This project proposes that psychological insights of family systems theory along with biblical themes and theological understandings of vocation, covenant, and blessing can help families to negotiate the transitions of leaving home and launching in loving and healthy ways. A four-week series of sermons and complimentary workshops were were presented to leavers (teenagers) and launchers (parents). Evaluation forms indicated that both groups grew psychologically and theologically. How families negotiate leaving home and launching has implications for a church in youth ministry, pastoral counseling, and worship.
