Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was for middle-agers to mentor young marrieds in marriage enrichment. The thesis was that with couples enlisted and mentors trained, the young marriages would give evidence of being strengthened through the guidance of the middle-aged couples. Pretests were the Dyadic Adjustment Scales (DAS) and the Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS). Weekly enrichment sessions included mentoring time after the director's lectures on eight aspects of marriage. Young marrieds indicated improvement on eight-ninths of the Relationship Change Scale, with slight improvement on the DAS and mixed results on the MSS.
