Abstract
  • This dissertation demonstrates that the Epistle to the Hebrews employs the theme of the believer's sonship to exhort its recipients to persevere in their faith in Christ and therefore it is an essential theme of Hebrews. It presents the initial evidences and then discusses the relationship between the believer's sonship and Christ's sonship in order to relate it to the nature of the believer's sonship and salvation found in Hebrews. Then it examines the text of Hebrews for textual and conceptual evidences. It concludes with discussions on the implications of the believer's sonship for salvation history and eternal security.
