Abstract

This ministry project deals with leading a local church to adopt a vision for church planting among a rapidly growing ethnic group. Chapter 1 gives the context of both the church and the county, highlighting the need for Hispanic church planting. Chapter 2 examines the biblical and theological basis for church planting. Chapter 3 looks at church planting methodologies, including ethnic church planting and Hispanic church planting in the state of Alabama. Chapter 4 gives details of the project process. Special attention is given to the different types of preparation for church planting. Chapter 5 is the author's personal reflection on the project. Because the project's goal was to lead the church to begin the journey of church planting, little emphasis is given to the 'nuts and bolts' of church planting. Rather, the project deals with leadership at a potential sponsoring church.
