Abstract
  • This dissertation defends the biblical doctrine of the soul against anthropological monism, including non-reductive monism. Additionally it proposes a book which will equip Christians to defend the traditional dualistic view of human nature, or the doctrine of the soul. The author surveyed the history of the dualism/monism debate, the biblical view and the philosophical and scientific arguments for each side, in order to explicate the issue. The author's research in these areas demonstrated strong evidence for dualism compared to monism.
