Abstract
  • This project investigates and analyzes the experiences of trauma and broken trust in four congregations in which pastors have engaged in sexual misconduct. Wounded congregations become self-absorbed for lengthy periods, moving through stages of grief in which members are voluntarily isolated and dissatisfied with denominational assistance. Christian resources such as Scripture and prayer are seldom used in healing these congregations.
