Abstract
  • This project leads selected adult leaders of Olivet Baptist Church, Sulphur, Louisiana, to reclarify their unique mission and develop a vision for ministry. Using the experimental method of research, 13 influential church leaders learned to write their own church mission and vision statements in a series of eight training sessions studying the nature and mission of the church, the church's gifts, and the church's community. Participating leaders reclarified their church's biblical mission and established a specific direction for ministry by writing the statements in their own words. Evaluation of the project confirmed that the selected leaders reclarified Olivet's mission and developed a vision for ministry.
