Abstract
  • The dissertation-project's purpose is to develop a new approach to confirmation preparation. The eucharistic liturgy offers a basis for a new resource because of its continuing and caring nature. The research includes a review of educational theory of the twentieth century and Christian education; an examination of the confirmation rite; interviews with clergy; a congregational survey to determine understanding levels; the development, use, review, and improvement of the 'Learning from Liturgy' resource; and a conclusion which emphasizes the responsibility of the church and individuals towards education.
