Abstract
  • The purpose of this study is to explore various aspects of marriage and family therapy in a pastoral setting. In order to develop an approach that takes into account the best available theories and techniques from all sectors of the field. At the same time, the particular concerns and resources of the Christian community will be considered, so the final product is useful as a framework for conducting therapy in that distinctive setting. The basis for a Christian approach will be laid in the first chapter by exploring the distinctives of this work practiced from a Christian perspective. next, a step-by-step examination of the process of therapy will be undertaken. Various approaches to clinical work will be selected and explored, based on their suitability and effectiveness in pastoral counseling. Then a case study of a family in therapy will be presented, to show the application of the theories and techniques previously explored.
