Abstract

The purpose of the proposed study was to determine how Paul's leadership styles, attitudes and methodology found in his farewell message of Acts 20:17-38 could be utilized to train a group of fifteen Fountain of Life pastors in the discipline of church planting. The training of the 14 pastors took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2002. The group had one year to put the principles learnt into practice. The class met twice after the one-year period to reevaluate the ten principles they had previously learnt. The project proved that it was possible to plant churches using the ten leadership principles gathered from Paul's speech at Miletus. 5 new churches were planted and the other 9 that had existed before this project began grew by 33% to 185%. The prayer life of the pastors, the giving in the churches and the small groups ministries improved.
