Abstract
  • Theologians of the 'Missional Church' movement have called for the formation of a missional identity for local congregations consistent with the theological paradigm of the 'Missio Dei.' They suggest that the practice of communal Bible study may be the key to re-forming the witness of local congregations. This project applies a missional hermeneutic, through the use of particular study questions, to the practice of communal Bible study in a local congregation. Discoveries made by participants are consistent with a 'missional church' understanding. The pattern of discoveries suggests that a 'missional church' understanding operates as a paradigm for interpretation.
