Abstract
  • This thesis project creates a series of discipleship seminars that are designed to train adults in foundational principles of spiritual development. Modeled after ones created by well-known pastor Rick Warren, these seminars are called the Discipleship Path Seminars ('DPS'). The DPS consist of four, four-hour seminars that run simultaneously and are conducted semiannually. The seminars are: 101-Membership--becoming a Christian and joining the church, 201-Maturity--cultivating habits of growth, 301-Ministry--discovering one's gifts and talents and using them to serve God, 401-Mission--learning how to share one's faith. A baseball diamond paradigm is used to help participants picture a developmental path that is intentional, progressive, and goal oriented.
