The project developed a manual which provides a course of instruction to train elders and deacons for service in the governing body of a local Christian Reformed Church. The method used is that of setting forth biblical and theological principles and then relating the church's confession and practice to them. This equips the elder or deacon for effective church service. The course of instruction consists of eight lessons. Each lesson contains a leader's guide, a worksheet and an evaluation sheet. Each lesson requires lecture and discussion, while some also require role play and other forms of instruction.
