- Abstract
- The author's thesis was that infant dedication narratives could benefit the spiritual formation of Assemblies of God church members. Using James Fowler's theory of faith development in infants through age seven as a model, he researched, designed, implemented, and evaluated an infant dedication instructional program for parents at Calvary Church (Houston, Texas), offering pastorally directed ministry before, during, and after the dedication event. He concluded that the use of infant dedication narrative benefitting spiritual formation in children could be facilitated through a pastorally directed instructional program to parents of newborns.
