Abstract
  • This project investigates the possibilities for new and creative uses of music in the main Sunday eucharistic liturgy as celebrated in the parishes of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle (NSW, Australia) using the Second Order eucharistic rite in 'An Australian Prayer Book' (1978). Three tasks are undertaken: 1) the examination of places in the AAPB Second Order where the use of music might be possible, and an education of priorities for such use; 2) reflection upon the potential of this music to impact the theology and faith-response of worshippers; and 3) the preparation of a series of workshops to promote the creative use of music as a continuing process of critically examining the theology of music in relation to the liturgy.
