Abstract
  • Despite unprecedented social opportunity for women, many Christian churches fail to see females as equal, defining their roles, denying their gifts and ignoring their needs. This thesis explores sociological, historical and theological-interpretive factors that have created this situation. Data show that most ministry to women is social, child-care or service oriented, yet many women desire excellent teaching, experiences in spiritual formation and development of their gifts. The resulting ministry paradigm combines biblical teaching with epistemological realities and educational principles that will produce a healthy population of Christian women, able to articulate their faith and employ their gifts as God intends.
