  • The purpose of this dissertation is to : a) describe, evaluate and analyze the closer walk model with specific emphasis on its content (curriculum); b) delineate the implications drawn for my practice of ministry; c) engage some reflections on a theology of spirituality in the African-American tradition; and d) report on some contemporary trends that point to the relevancy of spiritual life issues in African-American communities.
