- Abstract
- This project addressed the need for spiritual recovery and renewal for Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church in Chicago, Illinois, and its parish community. Public forums, short-term classes, and community events, sponsored jointly by the church and community organizations, were used to create fellowship and bring church members and community residents together. The project addressed the need for both church members and community residents to value the presence of a strong, vital congregation in the neighborhood. The qualitative instruments used to evaluate the project demonstrated growth in the appreciation of the church's role in the life of the world.
