  • This project describes and evaluates the Partners in Hope program. This relationship-based ministry is designed to promote the recovery and reintegration of battered women and their children back into the community following their refuge in an area shelter by involving congregations as a primary foundation of support. With the aim of offering abused women an opportunity to become independent and establish a violence and abuse-free home, the program addresses the numerous multifaceted needs of battered women through the creation of several interactive networks of supportive relationships. The project demonstrated the program's effectiveness as a successful model for ministry. Note: Restricted access until Dec. 31, 2002; contact author for permission.
