- Abstract
- This project explores perceptions of individuals regarding family system and spiritual life. Secular research has been skeptical of relationships between religion and personal and family life. The doctrine of the Trinity provides a theological basis for this study. Assessment instruments (SFI and SWBS) indicate that a population of healthy to midrange families with preference for a centripetal style of functioning report high levels of spiritual, religious, and existential well-being. Significant, positive correlations exist between perceptions of family system and perceptions of spiritual well-being. T-tests indicate that sexual identity, career satisfaction, and church affiliation are each significant.
