Abstract
  • Every change agent attempting to bring meaningful change to a congregation encounters resistance. 'Resistance to change' is a phenomenon common to every social institution. Although universal in scope, resistance to change is rooted in the internal and interpersonal dynamics of each congregation and is as unique and particular as each congregation. Congregations are called to become 'learning organizations' and a web-based center for the study of the dynamics of resistance to change in congregations, with a survey for measuring the character and level of resistance to change in congregations, with a survey for measuring the character and level of resistance encountered in specific congregations, together with a database of such data, is proffered.
