Abstract
  • Telling stories is a modality which individuals, particularly older adults, find useful in coping with grief and loss. This thesis/project explores how pastors can help congregation members link their stories to the Biblical narrative so that they can deal more effectively with these issues. Using an ethnographic research method, interviews with twenty older adults were used as the foundation for refining the integration of grief and loss to the Biblical narrative. The conclusion reached in this study was that this information will be useful to clergy in helping congregation members, especially older adults, manage loss and grief.
