- Abstract
- Stress and burnout in ministry is a very real problem. The author, using a qualitative approach to his research, focuses on examining the effects of stress and burnout in the pastorate by concentrating in the areas of the pastor, the pastor's family, and the pastor's congregation. With some 1500 pastors leaving the ministry each month, the findings of this research reveals the majority of pastors understand their stress levels to be increased but very few are doing anything preventative. The author seeks to communicate practical points of application throughout his work to bring about change.
