- Abstract
- After noting that his parish was unsuccessful in its use of future-oriented management planning programs, the author hypothesized that, in certain social systems, the re-appropriation of heritage may provide an occassion for corporate and mission renewal. The project explores this hypothesis in light of certain theological and sociological positions which the author determined to be consistent with the nature of the church and 'folk societies'. The hypothesis is seen to be espescially appropriate to the small church. The project describes the activities in the parish aimed at the re-appropriation of its heritage. The final chapter assesses these activities and draws conclusions.
