Abstract
  • Where do pastors and their families go to receive nurture and support when they are in need? The pastor can more effectively serve the local parish when the parish undertakes an intentional and supportive role in ministering personally to the pastor and the pastor's family. The method of study included securing support resources for clergy and their families from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and conducting a four-session workshop for clergy and clergy families. When pastor and people engage in a mutual ministry which is positive, enthusiastic, open, communicative and giving, then the parish is the place for support.
