This thesis-project explores the moral imperatives and practical aspects of institutions engaging in truth-telling to address historical and current acts of racism and marginalization with the particular institution. The People of Color at Evangelical College provide a rich account of their experience, which enters into dialogue with the field of higher education and the tradition of forgiveness and justice within the Christian tradition. Through comparison with truth and reconciliation commissions throughout the globe, the practical aspects of applying such a process within a smaller institution such as the liberal arts Christian college offers possibilities for communities of shalom.
