Abstract
  • The project provides strategies of leadership for all-white congregations to utilize in order to be re-created by God as an inter-racial congregation. The method used is a case study of Memorial United Methodist Church, a congregation which committed itself to changing its racial composition. The case study provides implications for other congregations attempting a similar re-creation as well as suggestions for various levels of the United Methodist connectional system. The project particularly addresses the role of the pastor in the change process.
