Abstract
  • An authentic preaching voice speaks from within the intersection of the congregation's, the preacher's, and God's experience of one another. By means of a corporate discernment process, the concept of the angel of the church can serve as a powerful image of the positive and negative aspects of a congregation's spiritual core. This angel then becomes the focus of sermon preparation and delivery. The medium of the angel allows the preacher to connect deeply with the longings and needs of the congregational family and preach the word the people are called to proclaim.
