- Abstract
- The purpose of this doctor of ministry project was to equip local ministers to provide supportive care for individuals whose lives had been affected by alcohol abuse. The author used didactic sessions, videos, discussion, and personal encounters to provide participants both cognitive and emotive learning experiences. Participants were measured, before and after the project, regarding knowledge of alcohol addiction and repositioning of attitudes toward persons addicted to alcohol. The overall goal was accomplished when participants wrote detailed plans for ministry, both personal and church-wide, to individuals whose lives had been adversely affected by alcohol abuse.
