  • In 1885, Swedish immigrant congregations organized together for shared mission. These bodies of 'Mission Friends' evolved into the Evangelical Covenant Church. The purpose of this project is to unlock the identity problem for congregations in this denomination by focusing on the originating themes as they pertain to this particular congregation. The action component takes the ninetieth anniversary year of the Haddam Neck Covenant Church (1988) as a means of viewing heritage and intersecting it with the current situation. The project concludes by affirming that both distinctives and common ground can be discussed from 'Mission Friends' terminology.
