Abstract
  • This project focuses on determining whether there are women having difficulty distinguishing their call into pastoral ministry because their husbands answered the call first. Quantitative and qualitative research were used by sending questionnaires to all 409 women married to clergy in the West Virginia Annual Conference and talking to those who feel called. The research showed that women married to clergy are not struggling with the call into pastoral ministry more than others not married to clergy are. The conclusion is that God is calling those whom he wants to be in pastoral ministry; they struggle equally to answer the call.
