Abstract
  • Korean immigrant churches are strongly influenced by Western churches and are sermon-oriented and lifeless. Korean Americans should develop worship and eucharistic forms that agree with Korean tradition and culture and harmonize with the Korean psyche. The author suggests that Korean immigrant churches should develop a Eucharist that is both contextual and based on the World Council of Churches' document Baptism, Eucharist and ministry. Pietistic and energetic worship can be promoted by balancing Word and Eucharist and introducing Korean cultural ingredients into the liturgies.
