Abstract
  • The research question explores whether the Alliance Marriage Encounter (ALMA) is an effective strategy for cross-cultural witness which has verifiable, quantitative results in stimulating evangelism and church growth in a missions context. Christ has commanded us to be 'learners' in a community of discipleship. Direct and indirect surveys and case studies indicate that ALMA marriage encounter is effective. Effective evangelism through receptor-oriented, relational, incarnational witness is a process. Effective discipleship is related to cross-cultural communication, dialogue and historical and cultural context. Effective churches are messengers of reconciliation, unified in witness and commissioned to be agents of redemptive covenant community.
