  • This project was designed to explore how intentional meditation incorporated into Sunday morning worship of an African American Baptist congregation would influence both the members and corporate worship. The report included research, meditation practice sessions, a preparatory sermon, post/pre questionnaires and an evaluation of the entire process. The theological dialogue partners included Dale Andrews and Howard Thurman. The results were a better understanding of the congregation's approach to worship and their desired outcome of worship. It was apparent that when given the time to quiet the mind and focus on God a more meaningful worship experience is produced.
