Abstract
  • This project studies the adaptation of Evangelism Explosion in Lisbon, Portugal, as a starting tool in cross-cultural church planting. It addresses a problem confronted by missionaries today of how to enter a new culture, developing therein an effective gospel presentation, a system of follow-up, and reproducible training program as a starting point toward the goal of biblical church growth. Evangelism, receptivity, discipleship, training, and church growth are studied in the context of this Presbyterian work in southern Europe, where the materials were culturally adapted until they could effectively communicate into the Portuguese worldview.
