Abstracto

The need for bereavement support groups is an ongoing reality as a means of assisting the bereaved in handling their grief. This Project offers a model for implementing, developing and sustaining such groups for the Church and community. In so doing, the Qualitative Research Methodology was employed. This included observations, field notes, interviews and questionnaires that were taken during the meetings of the Edgewater and Bethel Baptist Bereavement Support Groups. The research has assisted in developing the above-mentioned model, which may serve as a resource material for persons interested in ministering to bereaved individuals, specifically through the means of bereavement support groups.
