Abstract
  • Based on Bennett's developmental model of intercultural sensitivity, the researcher investigated intercultural competence and world view development and the relationship to undergraduate students' reflection of their spiritual and religious tension during a semester study abroad. A pre- and post-experience world view measurement was collected in the quasi-experimental design. Quantitative analysis indicated that, while both groups' world view developed, the treatment group's change was not significant. In fact, the control group showed a statistically significant higher average change score. Analysis also showed a significant change score difference for those participants who read the intervention and reflected. Finally, the study offers data regarding confounding variables.
