Abstract
  • The question of how congregations care for their pastors when they experience a crisis is often a reality. This project focuses on a particular congregation's experience caring for a pastor and his family. The project is a phenomenological study, which looks for the essence of a shared experience, then seeks meaning. The report explores the dynamics in play as one pastor's young son receives a heart transplant, as well as the theological reflection that occurs as one family's story becomes a conduit for other families to tell their stories of pain and grace.
