Abstract
  • The project used the Natural Church Development (NCD) paradigm and assessment tool to assess and improve the church's health. The NCD approach evaluated eight quality characteristics, advocating the use of the church's identified strength to build up its least- developed characteristic. The research involved three administrations of the NCD survey. The church's health index rose from thirty-eight to fifty-one on a scale of one to one hundred. Interviews revealed benefits in the process. Both the quantitative and qualitative findings led to the conclusion that the process did increase the vitality of the church.
