- Abstract
- This project proposes a contextualized model for teaching biblical principles of leadership to native Alaskan students at Alaska Bible College (Glennallen). The project examines the basic issues involved in contextualization and offers a defense for the procedure used. The writer identifies biblical principles of leadership by examining biblical terminology, teaching passages, and character studies. Traditional patterns of leadership among Alaskan natives as found in the ethnographic literature is described. Attention is also given to the cultural change which Alaska's native people are going through. results of the study include a paradigm for expressing biblical leadership principles in the native Alaskan context and proposals for changes in Alaska Bible College's curriculum to assist that process.
