Abstract
  • The purpose of this study has been to evaluate to what extent youth keep commitments they make at church camp and ways in which Christian leaders can support those commitments. Campers making commitments at Camp Galilee in El Dorado Springs, Missouri were surveyed following camp to determine the importance of spiritual disciplines and mentoring relationships on commitment level. The study showed a positive relationship between participation in spiritual disciplines and commitment level; however, the strongest correlation appeared in the area of fellowship. Individual spiritual disciplines are beneficial, but relationships are the most important factor in helping youth keep their commitments following camp.
