- Abstract
- New Member education in congregations of the Presbyterian Church (USA) plays a vital role in imparting the richness of the Reformed, Presbyterian tradition. This project focuses on current patterns, priorities, topics and resources for new member education within the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. A survey was sent to all congregations within this diverse Presbytery. Responses show that a majority of congregations offer new member education, with a high percentage of participation. Introduction to the Reformed, Presbyterian tradition is one of three equal priorities. The inconsistency of reported resources suggests that a published curriculum would be helpful to those leading new member classes.
