Abstrakt

This thesis is a narrative report of the development of the program of the Center for Urban Religious Education in St Louis, Missouri, and the related urban ministry program of St Louis Christian College. The opening chapters contain theological reflection on urban ministry in which the author contends that urban ministry must be holistic and that urban ministry education must be contextually relevant to be effective. Subsequent chapters provide an historical survey of African-American culture as it relates to project development and survey findings regarding the personality traits and task requirements of urban ministers.
