Abstract
  • Grounded in the belief that the work of campus ministry is a privileged setting for the encounter between faith and culture, this thesis-project explores ways in which campus ministers, in partnership with other campus leaders, can foster the formation of multicultural faith communities. Groome's method of 'shared Christian praxis' is used, in combination with Spradley's methodology for ethnographic fieldwork, as well as Holland and Henriot's tools for social analysis. This practical theological study reveals that in a globalized world, the pastoral need for intercultural communication competence is critical--for the full embrace of 'diversity' along the pathways of conversion, communion, and solidarity.
