Abstract
  • Effective pastoral psychotherapists must be able to provide quality spiritual and psychological therapy to low-income Black American clients. As the number of urban counseling centers increases, there is a need for trained, culturally sensitive pastoral psychotherapists to be able to treat competently low-income black American clients who will increasingly frequent these centers. This study will identify the low-income black American, highlight the special problems the low-income black American client brings to the pastoral psychotherapist, and suggest effective means for doing pastoral psychotherapy with these clients.
