Abstract
  • This project prepares church leaders to recognize characteristic traits and behaviors of Attention Deficit Disorder, acquaints them with the literature in the field, and helps them to make a professional referral. The project conducts three weekly workshops totaling 11 hours, addressing problems of ADD from childhood to adulthood, and using videos, lectures, tests, overheads, discussions, and reading assignments. Two of the three goals are achieved. Participants learn to recognize signs of Attention Deficit Disorder and become acquainted with the literature, but they do not become comfortable with making professional referrals.
