  • The writer's thesis is that one may experience a full life only after one gets in touch with it at its worst. The thesis is supported by the sustaining mood of pastoral theology. Through an analytical survey of death perspectives in the Bible and the major academic disciplines, a contention for death with dignity is formulated. A call is made for the church to respond with a specialized ministry with the critically ill and their families. A training model for such ministry is presented both for the clergy and laity.
